Tim Stevens of Cove broke the Class 1A meet record in the 3,000 meters on Friday, running 8:38.20. It was the third straight year Stevens won the event. He is headed to the University of Idaho in the fall. He runs cross country in the fall for Union, which is located eight miles away from Cove, which doesn't field a team.
